For the last few years I have been researching and writing about ways the average person can use inexpensive homemade solar panels to save $100s on their power bill every month. If I can do it, anyone can do it, and this is how I got started.

You would find it easy to use - I know I did. I found the instructions easy to follow, and there are plenty of diagrams to show important details. The electrical connections can be a little tricky if you don’t have a good diagram to follow. Getting the electrics right is fundamental to the project’s success. Plus, the free videos they provide show how to tab and string the energy cells so they work just like those expensive commercial panels that sell for many thousands of dollars. I will also spend a little more on the enclosure for the solar panel to make it even more efficient. I spent a little more money to build my solar panel than the author claims is necessary.
Conclusion:
I think you will not only save money with the solid information that is included, you can help the environment and have some fun too. The manuals, the diagrams and the videos make the money saving projects crystal clear and easy to follow. The directions are detailed with lots of photos and drawings to be sure you get the details right, and the author claims you can actually buy all your materials for one panel for less than $100 if you shop carefully. All materials can be purchased locally or on the web at a discount.
The instructions allow you to build a solar panel for your home, or you can build a portable panel that is great for camping and for power outages after storms.
Advantages:
The guide is professional with clear illustrations and directions to complete the projects.

In fact, the section on building wind turbines to generate free wind energy is one of the best I have seen.
Disadvantages:
The guide is a little more technical than other guides and so some readers may find it difficult to understand. The material is accurate, but to be honest, I found it dry and a bit of a chore to read.
I also believe the $100 cost for the solar panel components is too optimistic. The panel I built cost me just over $200, more than twice what the author claims you should pay.
The only other issue I have with this guide is that they do not include any video instruction with their package. I think video is very helpful, especially for people learning about solar and wind energy for the first time.
Conclusion:
I like the detail that they give to the subject of wind energy and building wind turbines, but I feel this product would benefit if they would include some video instruction that is helpful to get started. If this is your first energy saving project, I think the Earth4Energy system is easier to follow, which makes it better value, even though it costs a few dollars more.
